BCMCC - Application Process

Applications for the 2010 BCMCC have closed.  Applications for the 2012 BCMCC will open in January 2012.

The BCMCC utilizes an online application process. The online application process has four parts and must be completed in one sitting. You will require the following information:

Part 1:

  1. All your basic information including:
    1. An email address – this will be the main method of contact by the BCMCC
    2. A postal address so judging forms may be mailed to you in approximately 8 months time.
  2. Upload the sound recording of your composition
    1. The recording must be submitted in mp3 format
    2. MIDI produced "recordings" are accepted!  Live recordings are not needed.
    3. Your recording must be labeled lastname-bcmcc-audio (example: smith-bcmcc-audio.mp3)
    4. The file size limit is 10md
    5. If your composition audio file is in more than one file, there are four uploads possible on the form
      1. Please lable each of your audio files accordingly lastname-bcmcc-audio2; lastname-bcmcc-audio3; lastname-bcmcc-audio4
  3. Upload the score of your composition
    1. The score must be presented via music notation software. Sibelius is preferred, Finale is accepted
    2. Scores must be submitted in PDF format
    3. Your score must be labeled lastname-bcmcc-score (example: smith-bcmcc-score.pdf)
    4. The file size limit is 10mb

NOTE: All file size limits are 10mb per file uploaded.  An ENTIRE form (combination of all files uploaded) must not exceed 20mb.  If your files total more than 20mb, please contact us for an alternative submission process.

Part 2:

  1. Any additional information you would like to submit to the BCMCC including your education history and accomplishments. This information will not be supplied to BCMCC judges.
  2. Please tell us how you heard about the BCMCC

Part 3:

  1. Agree to the terms and conditions
  2. Sign your name electronically
  3. Submit your application

Part 4:

  1. After submitting your application you will be directed to the Paypal website to pay your $40 application fee
  2. Complete your BCMCC application. 

After you have completed all four parts of the application process you will receive a confirmation email within a week.  If you do not receive a confirmation email within a week of completing your application, please contact us.
