Bassoon Chamber Music Composition Competition
BCMCC is a new Composition Contest hosted by Dr Paula Brusky. The intent of this competition is to expand the chamber repertoire available to bassoonists when planning recitals. In addition to expanding chamber repertoire for bassoonists, the BCMCC encourages composers to write for the instrument.
An expert panel of judges has been assembled. MSR Classics recording label will be releasing the CD of winning compositions. TrevCo Music, renown publisher of double reed music, will be publishing the winning compositions. An online application system has been developed and the BCMCC is open for submissions. Applications for the 2010 BCMCC are closed; applications for the 2012 BCMCC will open January 2012. Review the application process and entry requirements. Judging for the 2010 BCMCC is underway and should be completed by September.
